The Club Day on Saturday (June 15 ), which will take place from 12 noon to 6 p.m. between the Old Town Hall Square and the Poth, will be as colorful and diverse as the European Championships. The city sports association and the sports office have asked the local clubs to take part and to put together a varied program to mark the Team Base Camp of the Italian national soccer team in Iserlohn and the European Championships, to provide information and to invite people to take part.
"To be honest, we wouldn't have dared to expect such a large number of supporters from the clubs. That's why we are incredibly happy about the response and are looking forward to this special day," says Christian Kißmer. As head of the Iserlohn sports office and managing director of the city sports association, he promises all visitors who take the time to stroll around the club day plenty of sporting variety.
The TUS field hockey department and the Hennen water sports club will be presenting themselves around the Alte Stadtbad on the Poth. At the same time, the youngest Iserlohn residents are invited to show off their sporting prowess. At the stand of the district sports association, they can take the Jolinchen badge, the mini version of the sports badge, and put their sporting skills to the test.
TV Lössel will also be there, not only to draw attention to its wide range of activities, but also to give a performance on the stage in front of the old town hall.
A little further on, just behind the Bohnenstraße junction in the direction of Westertor, the VfK will be waiting for keen players on the Bossel track. And Jumpy, the Iserlohn Kangaroos mascot, can hardly wait for the club day and is also looking forward to shooting a few hoops with all his basketball friends and taking photos.
The Borussia Dröschede stand will be at least as sporty, offering soccer darts and a climbing mountain for all those interested in sport. Afterwards, those who have exhausted themselves here can fortify themselves at the various food trucks, barbecue and drinks trolleys, before heading off to measure their shooting speed at SC Hennen in the Westertor Passage. Balance, speed and precision are qualities that are important in inline skater field hockey. At the IH Samurai stand, this is exactly what you can try out.
Disc golf is definitely one of the current trend sports and has already captivated many athletes at the "Sport in the Park" event in recent years. On Saturday, anyone interested can once again try their hand at the Flying Foxes disc golf course in the city center and try to throw the Frisbee into the basket.
In the shadow of the Old Town Hall, not only the DLRG will be on site with an information stand and inviting visitors to try their hand at duck fishing, but also the ISSV, which will be offering a soccer rodeo as well as lots of information about swimming. Skill, strength and talent will be put to the test here for young and old alike. Talent and precision are also required at the Robo-Keeper, which is supervised by FC Iserlohn and is sure to be one of the magnets of the club day. The Iserlohn Riding Club will also make the hearts of many little Iserlohn girls beat faster when they discover the wooden horse and can try out their first exercises on it. The Young Roosters will transform the Old Town Hall Square into an outpost of the ice rink and set up a puck shooting rink where they can practice their shots.
In addition to information on football from the Iserlohn Titans and archery from the BSC, visitors can also look forward to the VfK Iserlohn's tunnel goal wall shooting on the Old Town Hall Square.
There will also be an appealing stage program there, where not only the riding club but also TV Lössel will amaze visitors during the course of the club day. If other sports clubs decide to offer a stage program at short notice, please contact the city's sports office.
At the end of this varied day, visitors can look forward to a special act at the European Championship pre-game show on the Old Town Hall Square. Tenor Sebastiano Le Medico will be performing at around 5.30 p.m., delighting the audience with his powerful voice.
